Get the graduating roster correct

Confirm who is included with the head coach: players, team managers and any other students the school plans to recognize. Ask a single coordinator to collect official names, jersey numbers, graduation years and preferred photos. Cross-check the final roster against the number of banners ordered. Use consistent capitalization and name styling. A carefully proofed tribute is better than a rushed collection of signs that leave someone out.

Build a baseball-specific portrait system

Use media-day uniform portraits, batting images or glove-and-ball photographs with enough resolution for a large display. Set every player name in the same bold position, with jersey number and school logo clearly secondary. Allow generous margins so helmets, bats and gloves are not cropped awkwardly. Avoid five small action shots where one strong portrait would be more visible from the stands. Keep sponsors separate from the athlete's main recognition area.

Measure the actual ballpark fence

Baseball fields have dugout gates, bullpen openings, backstop netting, field access routes and foul-line visibility requirements. Walk the proposed display with school personnel, then measure each usable fence bay. A row along an approved entrance fence may work better for family photos than a remote outfield panel. Do not obstruct field operations, spectator paths, emergency access or existing safety signs. Confirm who is permitted to install and remove the banners.

Use vinyl for portraits and mesh for exposed fence areas

Solid vinyl reproduces colors and player photographs vividly on sheltered surfaces, dugout-adjacent photo locations or indoor walls. Mesh allows air through the material and can suit open chain-link fencing, although it still creates wind load and requires approved attachment. School Signs Fast offers 13 oz, 15 oz and 18 oz vinyl options. Only 18 oz vinyl supports double-sided printing. Mesh prints on one side. Match material to the place where the banner will actually hang.

Make the artwork package foolproof

Request original photos instead of social-media screenshots, and obtain authorized school logos in high-quality formats. Build all player designs at the same finished size and leave names clear of hems and grommets. PDF is preferred for print-ready art, with AI, EPS, PNG, JPG and TIF also accepted. Label files by player name and jersey number. Include a short quantities list so every proof corresponds to the correct student.

Work backward from first pitch

Give families a photo deadline well before Senior Night. Reserve time for coaches to check spellings and jersey numbers and for the coordinator to approve the final set. Allow a buffer for revisions and shipping. Arrange a safe installation and removal plan before the team arrives for its final home-game ceremony.

From files to finished banners

Select the banner product, finished size and quantity based on the approved display. Prepare a separate artwork file for each athlete, but keep every artboard the same dimensions. Follow the Upload Artwork instructions after ordering. Standard orders are paid before production, so do not assume school purchase-order or net-term billing is available. If photos or logos still need to be assembled into a design, use the separate Design Services option before submitting a final print file.

After the senior celebration

Decide whether the school will keep the banners up through postseason play or give them to graduating families. Ask authorized facilities staff to remove each banner safely, especially from high or windy locations. Clean dirt as appropriate, allow vinyl to dry and store it rolled instead of folding through a player's face. A coordinated display should be easy to account for when the ceremony ends, with each senior's banner clearly identified.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What should a baseball Senior Night banner show?

Feature one sharp player photo, name, jersey number, graduation year and approved school identity. Keep details large enough to read from the planned viewing point.

Can each senior get an individual banner?

Yes. Use matching finished sizes and overall design, then personalize each portrait. Check your order quantities against the official senior list.

Where can the banners be displayed?

Use school-approved fence sections or photo spaces that do not interfere with gameplay, maintenance, gates, spectator circulation or safety signs.

Should we order vinyl or mesh?

Consider mesh for exposed chain-link fencing and solid vinyl for sheltered portrait displays. The school must approve the surface and mounting arrangement.

Can we print on both sides?

Double-sided printing is offered on 18 oz vinyl only. Mesh and the other listed vinyl weights are single-sided.

When should we place the order?

Allow time for collecting photos, checking names, proof review, production and shipping before the scheduled ceremony.
